Further Reading - Topic 2

Further, if somewhat more complex, reading that might be of use for Topic 2 can be accessed via the e-Journal Portal. The journal Behavioral and Brain Sciences (note the American spelling!) is a journal that publishes target articles that are then commented on by a number of other academics/researchers, with the original authors responding to these comments. The Noe reading in your reading pack refers to an article by O'Regan and Noe (2001) that was just such a target article in BBS.

If you access the e-Journal portal and search for Behavioral and Brain Sciences, then look for Volume 24 (2001) Issue 5, you should find the article by O'Regan & Noe (2001). Note that, when you access the PDF for this article, it is 94 pages long because it includes all the peer commentary and the authors' response. Obviously, you can pick and choose amongst the commentary for ideas that you might useful in getting to grips with questions about whether or not we perceive the world by constructing detailed internal representations of it.
